Everyday Makeup

There is nothing I love more than a simple, natural look for my everyday makeup!

In this post, I am going to walk you through the steps and products that I use on a daily basis. This look is super easy and takes less than 15 minutes in the morning!

I'm going to start with walking you through applying face makeup. The first and one of the most important steps for this look is PRIMER! I can't stress this enough. Primer is so important to put on underneath your foundation, in order to keep your skin hydrated and make your makeup last longer throughout the day. Primer also helps give your application a much smoother look. I personally use Too Faced Hangover Rx face primer. I just apply it with my hands super quick before I apply the foundation.

It took me a long time to find the perfect foundation for my skin type. I like full coverage, but only enough to still let my freckles show through. I also don't like when foundation feels too thick on my face. I've gone through many different brands and types of foundation, until I recently got a recommendation to try Rihanna's new brand of makeup, Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. This foundation is AMAZING, y'all. It goes on so smooth and is just enough coverage to still maintain that natural look. It truly feels like you're not even wearing makeup! I got my skin tone tested at my local Sephora to make sure I got the best fitting shade for me. I recommend doing that just to make sure the coloring is not too dark or too light for your coloring. My color is 310 (warm). Usually, I squirt 2-3 pumps on my hand and use my It Cosmetics Double Airbrush Foundation Brush to apply this. Using a brush or beauty blender is so important to make sure your makeup goes on evenly.

I always add a little bit of It Cosmetics' Bye Bye Under Eye concealer underneath my eyes before putting on bronzer. This product is really a miracle worker. If you ever have bags under your eyes, then this is for you! Using my index finger, I put a teeny tiny bit and blot under my eyes.

Next, I do a light application of Marc Jacobs' O!mega Bronze Perfect Tan bronzer all over my face and neck to maintain a little color, especially during the warmer months! This is a matte bronzer, making your skin look flawless and not shiny. I apply this with my Too Faced Kabuki brush

The next step is to contour and highlight to add some shape to your cheekbones and nose. I use the Tarteist Pro Glow Contour Palette. I usually use the sculpt shade to shape my face below my cheekbones and outline my nose creating a slimmer look. Using an angled brush, like Tarte's bronze & glow contour brush, you can construct the perfect contour. Getting a brush like this with two ends, one for bronzing and one for highlighting, is a great way to buy two brushes for the price of one! After I've finished contouring, I apply one of the highlight shades (I've used all of them, just depending on my mood that day) on my cheekbones and on the center of my nose.

For those of you who prefer blush over highlighting, my personal favorite blush is Too Faced Sweetheart's Blush. This blush contains three shades, with a bit of shimmer, adding the perfect color to those cheeks!

After I've completed my face makeup, I then move on to my eyes. Another major thing for applying eye makeup is to use eyeshadow primer. Using eyeshadow primer is such a lifesaver when it comes to making sure your eye makeup stays on all day! My favorite eyeshadow primer is Tarte's Lid Lock Clay Eye Base. I just apply the primer using a tiny brush. I recommend getting a brush set like, Tarte's Toast the Good Life Eye Brush Set, for your eyes because I generally use 2-3 different brushes when applying eye makeup.

After the primer is applied, I move on to eyeshadow. My absolute favorite palette is Tarte's Toasted Palette (as you can tell, I am obsessed with Tarte Cosmetics). First, I apply the shade cashmere all over my eyelid. Then, I combine warmth and cozy to the outside corner of my eyelid to make my eyes pop with the darker warm colors. If you want to go even darker with your eyes, you can also use the crackle and fireside colors on the outside corner of your eyelid. With a smaller brush, I sometimes add a bit of shimmer to the inside corner of the eye using the candle shade.

After the eyeshadow is completed, I move onto eyeliner! For those of you who prefer not to wear eyeliner, you can skip this part and just move straight to your mascara! I use Tarte's Sex Kitten Liquid Liner pen for my top liner, in order to create an simple wing to my eyes. For my bottom liner, Bobbi Brown's Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in pitch black is my absolute favorite because it lasts all day!

The last step to completing your eyes is adding some length and volume to your lashes, using mascara. It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara is the most amazing mascara I've ever tried! I cannot recommend it enough.

If you don't have as much time in the morning or don't feel like putting in much effort into your eye makeup, there are many days that I just skip the eyeshadow/eyeliner and only wear mascara!

Last, but certainly not least is lips! I have one lip look that I love to wear everyday. For the base color, I apply Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in the shade Festival, which is a nude mauve color. Once I've done that, I then apply Fenty Beauty's Gloss Bomb over the lip paint, adding a subtle shimmer. These two together create a perfect nudey-pink natural look to kick start your day!
